Fall is all about apples at my house, and harvesting them is a community event. I have a few trees (does that mean I have an orchard?), but we also glean them from around town. People are happy to invite you into their yards to pick from their trees before they fall to the ground — there is such glorious abundance, and the possibilities are delightfully endless.
