Stitching in the Midst of Quiet

[ABOVE] Stitching in Eastern Washington.

One of my favorite things to do is to stitch outside. Outside, in a place that is quiet of people, and yet noisy with sounds of birds and the touch of a light wind on the leaves.

[ABOVE] My morning work: patches for my "3 birds" photo albums — one of my many bird-inspired projects.

When I'm in this moment, time feels completely dedicated to the sun's location, and I feel no hurry with my stitching or my thoughts. Finding a place like this to feel completely present while focusing on what I love to do (stitching) is a real gift. I am thankful for this discovery.
