I'm happy to report that creativity is alive and well in my studio — in fact, the more busy I am, the more creative I seem to get. It can be a vicious cycle, but actually it's a fine predicament to be in.
A new craft book proposal is underway (hint: it will be a follow-up to this book), and as I prepare to give felt craft workshops this weekend in NYC, new ideas — like this exposed binding blank journal —keep insisting on being made.
ABOVE: Embroidered Blank Book (Bird on Branch) — opens wide for easy writing and sketching. 92pp.
Those familiar with my springtime collection know that I offer a felt easter basket, complete with a felt egg and chick. Now you can make your own felt eggs with my Felt Egg DIY kit ($6). Sew up a dozen!
ABOVE: Even felt eggs can break... fortunately they're not as messy as real ones.
The egg kit, all 7 blank book designs and new finger puppets are all available on Etsy, which is where I sell one-of-a-kind items and test new ideas. Let me know what you think: visit Kata Golda's Etsy boutique.
Better yet, join me at Etsy Labs in Brooklyn this Monday, March 22 (4-8pm EST) for a free felt craft workshop. Not in NYC? Sign in that day on Etsy.com and watch the live web cast on Etsy Virtual Labs (5PM EST).
And if Monday just isn't your day to craft, there are lots of other opportunities to do some felt stitching with me this weekend: full NYC schedule. Stop by, say hi, and learn something new!
