This is why I love what I do.

Every so often I get emails from people that have made projects from Kata Golda's Hand-stitched Felt, sharing photos of the items they've made. The other day I got one from Erika Martin, who took the messenger bag project to a whole new level.

Be sure to read Erika's blog post to see more photos and learn what she used instead of a button to close her bag with—it's truly an inspiration.

Seeing how others take my ideas and add their personal touch reminds me of how much I love what I do. Thank you to everyone who's shared their creativity with me this year; you've helped make 2009 a fabulous year.

Holiday Ordering Deadline Extended

It barely made it above freezing today — a rarity in this mossy little seaside town — which means I really am going to be spending a lot of time warming up by the fire. So, in celebration of fire-side stitching, I decided today to extend my holiday ordering deadline.

To avoid expedited shipping costs and receive your gift orders by December 23, please order by Tuesday, December 15, 2009.

If you're ordering closer to the holiday, please call or email me and I'll let you know if expedited shipping costs will apply.

Kata Golda on GOOP

As many of you've noticed, I have not been posting as much on my blog lately; the holiday season is my busiest stitching time and I confess that the draw of sitting by the fire with my sewing and mug of hot tea is more powerful than the glossy screen of my laptop. Hot tea and electronics don't tend to get along very well together.

However, I am still taking orders for the holidays — including the personalized stockings, stuffed companions, and felt banners for your fireplace mantel that Gwyneth Paltrow mentioned this past week in her blog, GOOP.

If there's something you'd like made for the holidays, just let me know. I'll put another pot of tea on and get right to work.
